John Hemming - don't block traffic lights

Local Councillor and Lib Dem MP John Hemming has called upon drivers to stop blocking traffic lights in bad weather.

"This time the gritters did their job, but many traffic lights were blocked by drivers pushing into the yellow box. Sadly the police wouldn't even provide officers for the main junctions. The end result was gridlock."

John Hemmings MP"It is important that drivers do not block others at traffic lights. That is why Birmingham was gridlocked and it is in people's hands to make things better. It is only a minority of drivers, but they cause problems for everyone."
