LORELY BURT MP JOINS CAMPAIGN AGAINST TRAVEL INSURANCE PENALTIES FOR OVER 65s

Solihull's MP, Lorely Burt has signed up to an all-party campaign to end travel insurance penalties for over 65s.
She has signed a motion in Westminster calling on the travel industry and providers of travel insurance to provide a fairer service to pensioners, who often find themselves paying far more than others for their travel insurance and can be restricted in their use of travel insurance that comes bundled with package holidays.
Lorely Burt MP said:
"Despite the fact that the population of the UK is ageing, people aged over 65 years are finding it increasingly difficult to access travel insurance.
"They are routinely excluded from policies included with holiday packages, are also excluded from some directly purchased travel insurance multi-trip policies after the age of 70 years, regardless of whether or not they are in good health.
"Any cover that is available is a great deal more expensive than that offered to under-65s. The travel industry and providers of travel insurance must put in place a system that is fairer to its older customers."
