Lorely Burt MP paid an early morning call to staff handling the deluge of Christmas mail at Solihull's Royal Mail Sorting Office this week.
Mrs Burt praised staff for their efforts to help ensure Christmas presents and cards were delivered on time again this year.
"Volumes of mail are building to a peak with over 40,000 extra deliveries to deal with on just one day last week.
"Far more packets are arriving for delivery this year as internet sales from businesses like Amazon increase.
"Staff at Solihull are doing a fantastic job and every one will deserve to put their feet up for a well earned rest when Christmas Eve finally arrives," said Lorely Burt MP.
