KEYNOTE SPEAKER: BARONESS SAL BRINTON
The NHS bill is still causing lots of concern in the party and we are going to have some of the key personnel involved in trying to make the party re-think where we are with this Bill. Charles West, our own key person in the region, will be chairing this session.
As usual, there will be a range of training sessions and fringe events. There is going to be a session on using Connect in a local election campaign, plus other key sessions leading up to our campaigns for local elections.
Jon Hunt, Chair of the Regional Policy Committee, is keen to get your input into regional policies which are then taken on to being considered by the Federal Policy Committee.
Why not put forward your own motion to Conference? We will have two slots for motions from you. You need to get 4 voting members to back the motion (Conference Standing Orders state that Policy Motions may be submitted by the Regional Executive, Local Parties, Council Groups, Specified Associated Organisations (SAO) and Conference Members). Where a motion is submitted by Conference Members via a Local Party, it must be supported by 4 such members.
Please submit your policy motion by email to the Conference Chair, Christine Tinker: conference@wmlibdems.org or post to Bower Cottage, Clungunford, Craven Arms, Shropshire SY7 0PN. The deadline for Christine to receive motions, with all supporting names, addresses, email addresses and membership numbers is Fri 24 Feb by 5pm. One person should be submitted as the main contact for Christine regarding the policy.
