Councillor Di Rayner said: "Since taking control of the council in 2003 from a failing Tory administration, we have steadily improved performance and are now in the top quartile of councils nationally according to government ratings. "At the same time, rises in the District Council share of Council Tax have been kept low, under 3% this year and the same for next year, delivering value for money and good quality services." Richard Burt said: "The Liberal Democrats, in administration with the Green Party have delivered on their manifesto pledges and have put in place an imaginative programme to make the district cleaner, greener and safer over the next four years
