EQUALITIES REVIEW FINDING TIP OF THE ICEBERG - BURT

Commenting on the Equalities Review released today, Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Women and Equalities, Lorely Burt MP said:

"After 10 years of a Labour government whose flagship policy is to address inequalities, this damning report highlights how little has changed.

"The fact that women with children under 11 are 45% less likely to be employed than men is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to discrimination against women in the workplace today.

"Employers are missing out on a huge pool of talent which the British economy needs, while women languish in low skill, often part time jobs which reinforce the gender divide and make families poorer."
