"Clearing up after fly tipping, and cleaning rubbish from the streets costs Solihull Council Taxpayers dearly every year.
"It is a criminal offence to fly tip and litter, but the problem seems to be on the increase. Solihull Council is already cash strapped and it seems so wasteful that so much extra has to be spent each year on cleaning up after people dump their rubbish.
"I have signed up to Diane Abbott's call on Government to step up its campaign against fly-tipping and street rubbish, including working with groups such as Keep Britain Tidy.
Anything that can be done to coerce or persuade people to dispose of their rubbish responsibly must be encouraged."
