Richard "Does His Bit" For The Armed Forces7.11.00am GMT Sun 1st Nov 2009 With Remembrance Day approaching, Richard Burt has signed up to the Royal British Legion 'Do Your Bit' campaign for MPs and parliamentary candidates, and will receive a thank-you pledge card to show to voters whilst canvassing. Mr Burt has urged MPs and candidates across Worcestershire to take the pledge and to champion calls for improvements to the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme, provision of independent legal advice for bereaved families and ensuring that NHS priority treatment for veterans actually works. "I recently visited the acute burns unit at Selly Oak Hospital and have seen first hand what a fantastic job the NHS is doing, body and soul, for injured military personnel. I fully support the Royal British Legion campaign for fairer compensation, long term care and support for bereaved families," said Richard. "What is done in a moment can take many, many years to put right. Injured soldiers and their families should never be forgotten for the sacrifices they have made. "
