Beverley was born in Malvern, moving back to Worcestershire to raise her family in the county. As Associate Professor she leads the Birmingham City University think tank, IDEA Institute helping to start up over 40 new graduate businesses.

She served as a Worcestershire County Councillor 2009-2013, saving Malvern Hills Outdoor Education Centre from closure, setting up a community business and working with the existing team to open a second centre in Bell Heath, Bromsgrove. They now welcome over 5k young people every year who gain experiences of the outdoors and new life skills.

Beverley promoted tourism as CEO of the Heart of England Tourist Board and served on the board of the Malvern Hills Trust, being passionate about our countryside, habitats and safeguarding our special environment. She sits on the leadership advisory board for the Midland Metropolitan Hospital and the advisory board of the Lapal Canal Trust. She has a strong interest in promoting the West Midlands region having developed the Birmingham Made Me Design Expo, the Midlands Excellence charity and West Midlands First initiative promoting quality business practice and highlighting our many world leading innovations. She has worked to promote local businesses as former Director of CBI West Midlands and MD of retailer Fired Earth, part of AGA Rangemaster plc.

In 2017 she stood as Liberal Democrat Mayoral Candidate in the West Midlands and is the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for West Worcestershire.
