New Member Welcome Session Course Outline

A friendly, engaging and informative look at all things LibDem.  This session has been designed for brand new members, or members who have been inactive for some time. 

Who is it for?

New or inactive party members who would like find out more in a welcoming environment.  This light hearted, and highly interactive session, is a great opportunity to meet people from other parts of the region who are new to the Liberal Democrats. 

No previous experience is necessary.  This is your chance to ask the questions you might already have and find out more about what your membership offers. 

Please note - efforts are taken on every course to ensure that the room and facilities are accessible for our disabled members.  If you have any other special needs, please raise them when booking, and every effort will be made to accommodate you. 

What will we cover?

During the course we will cover:

  • National – a history of the party, our current MP’s, our mission, conference, special interest groups, ways to connect with the National party
  • Regional – the regional executive, geography of our region, current projects, regional conference
  • Local – How local parties work, councillors, ALDC, parliamentary candidates, campaigners, social events and fundraising,
  • You – why you got involved, what being “Liberal” means, how you can engage with your local party, making connections with other members.

How long is it?

Approximately 3 hours, including a light buffet lunch.
