Venue

Meet at Radford Road Church Hall, Radford Road, Leamington Spa, CV31 1HQ between 10.00 and 10.30am

Training

Two streams of training will be running:

Agent training (incorporating the knowledge needed to be a councillor and parliamentary candidate agent) will be running in the lounge.  This is a full day event and will be run by ALDC experts.

Canvassing training will take place in the morning and will cover skills for beginners and experts alike.  We will be covering the use of minivan, which is something that many local parties would like to be better at. Leamington Spa has a great set of candidates standing for election this May.  After learning the theory and knowledge in the morning, delegates can put their campaigning skills into practice by trying them out in winnable wards alongside competent and experienced canvassers.

Parking

There are a few free car parking spaces outside the venue, although they are likely to be taken up and there are some free spaces in the surrounding streets.  Alternatively there are local car parks available, and being central, the venue is not too far from local bus and train routes.  I am taking note of driver names as we will need some people to drive to the canvassing location.

If you do need to pay to park, then cover up to 13.30 if you are canvassing in the afternoon.

Note for our disabled visitors

Absolutely.  The training and refreshments will all be on the ground floor with wheelchair access, and there are disabled toilets.  Consideration will need to be given to canvassing.  Please discuss your requirements with Jennifer.

Dietary requirements

We are catering for one coeliac and one vegan especially.  A selection of vegan, vegetarian and meat inclusive foods will be available in the lunch buffet.

Any food that does not get eaten will be donated to the night shelter which serves between 20-3o homeless people locally.  We will also be ordering in some foods especially for them.  If anyone wants to find out more about the night shelter they are encouraged to speak to the candidates.

I'm a Young Liberal...

We love welcoming YL members! If you are part of YL and you struggle with the costs of attending, then contact Jennifer and we can arrange to reimburse your travel expenses.
