West Midlands Regional Conference 2026

West Midlands Regional Conference 2026

Stronger Communities – Fairer Future

Join Liberal Democrat members, campaigners, councillors and parliamentarians from across the West Midlands for a day of inspiring speeches, political discussion, practical training and opportunities to share ideas.

With Local Government Reorganisation high on the political agenda, it will be a major focus of this year’s conference. We will explore how Liberal Democrats can help shape the future of local government, protect strong local representation and ensure that any new councils remain responsive to the communities they serve.

The conference will bring together experienced Liberal Democrat local government leaders, elected representatives and campaigners to consider the challenges and opportunities ahead, share lessons from across the region and discuss how we can provide ambitious, effective leadership through a period of significant change.

Saturday 10 October 2026 – 10.00am–4.00pm
Spring Hill Farm, Lower Moor, near Pershore, WR10 2PE

Alongside our focus on Local Government Reorganisation, the day will include inspiring speakers, policy discussion, practical campaign and councillor training, fringe sessions and opportunities to meet Liberal Democrats from across the West Midlands.

Whether you are an experienced campaigner, a councillor, a new member or simply keen to become more involved, the Regional Conference will offer something for everyone.

Our full programme, speakers and ticket information will be announced soon.

Local Government Reorganisation

Explore how Liberal Democrats can shape the future of local government, protect local representation and keep communities at the heart of new councils.

Shaping the Future of Local Government

Local Government Reorganisation will bring major changes to councils and communities across the West Midlands. This conference will provide an important opportunity for Liberal Democrats to come together and consider how we respond.

We will explore how we can protect genuinely local representation, maintain strong links between councillors and their communities, and ensure that any new authorities are transparent, accountable and responsive to local needs.

Drawing on the experience of Liberal Democrat council leaders, councillors and campaigners, we will share practical lessons and discuss how our party can shape the changes ahead—rather than simply react to them.
